NanoMarkets Offers Report on BIPV Roofing Markets
Analyst firm NanoMarkets has announced that it will add a report titled “BIPV Roofing Markets-2012” (Nano-543). The report talks in detail about Building Integrated Photovoltaics (BIPV).
According to the report BPIV is a very viable alternative for the PV and building products industry particularly during the financial crisis. While for the PV industry, it can be used to add value to existing products, for the building product industry this can be a new line of product which will help building companies to add many more features. However the process of migration from rooftop PV panels to BIPV roofing has to be done gradually. Towards this end the report identifies various market opportunities for BIPV roofing.
The report also discusses revenues that can be achieved from basic overlay products, conventional, rigid and flexible BIPV roofing products and revenues that can be achieved from fully integrated BIPV roofing. Forecast for the market has been done in terms of area covered wattage, and the revenues. Specific topics deal with the type of building, materials used and BIPV roofing. The report has also predicted the regions and countries that will contribute to most of the revenues of BIPV roofing and provides strategies that could be used by companies that presently support BIPV roofing. The report also states that the BIPV roofing industry is likely to evolve in the future in terms of the lifetime requirements and the usage of materials for absorber layers and substrate layers.
