Cali Bamboo Introduces Stronger and Harder BamDeck Composite Decking

Cali Bamboo has come up with an improved BamDeck Composite decking material that is more eco-friendly than its earlier Green-compliant bamboo construction materials.

Bamboo composite decking is suited for all temperatures and climates as exemplified by this impressive BamDeck™ installation in Costa Rica.

BamDeck, always made of 100% recycled ingredients, is now made of highly durable deck boards that are made of 60% recycled bamboo fiber and 40% recycled HDPE (high-density polyethylene) plastics. This one-of-a-kind combination of ingredients is used only in BamDeck, thus raising its value much higher than other similar competitors.

Evaluation conducted complying with the regulations of the American Society for Testing and Materials found that BamDeck Composite is four times stronger and twice harder than other decking materials. The product is also more resistant to water and fire. It is also skid-proof and conforms to the stipulations of the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Natural wood decks are made from varieties of redwood due to their strength and resistance to insects and disintegration. Such woods take several years to mature and have no re-growth once they are chopped. Redwood decks are made from old-growth wood that has a 500-700 year lifespan. “Old-growth” indicates woods that are very old, by which they promote the maximum biodiversity due to distinctive filtration of sunlight. Such redwood is stronger than younger wood and suppliers of this wood can provide longer term guarantees.

The excessive requirements for wood have drastically reduced the number of these old-growth trees. Contrarily, bamboo can be cut every five years and grows back again with no deterioration of the tree or the environment. The recycled bamboo fiber used to make BamDeck is procured from treating other Cali Bamboo construction products.

BamDeck is covered by a 10-year commercial and 25-year residential use guarantee and comes in four attractive colors.
