China International Building & Interior Design Festival to Take Place at Shanghai New International Expo Centre

The China (Shanghai) International Building & Interior Design Festival 2014 (hereinafter abbreviated as IDF) will be held from March 31st to April 3rd at Shanghai New International Expo Centre alongside with the top trade-design event - Expo Deco.

With the support of the China Institute of Interior Design, the Interior Design China Magazine, IDF provides inspiration, innovation and opportunities for businesses involved in the design, construction and decoration of fine space through a blend of high-level forums, competitions, and displays.

Beyond the Presence - The International Hospitality Design Conference 2014

The International Hospitality Design Conference 2014 - 'Beyond the Presence' - will invite design gurus such as Tina Norden, the associate director of Conran & Partners, Ed Ng, the director of AB Concept, Joe Cheng, the chairman of CCD, and Leo Li, the principal of Studio / HBA, to Shanghai to make speeches. All of them have worked within the hospitality design industry for decades and been involved in all facets of hospitality projects from conceptual design through design implementation for luxury hotels, resorts, spas, club houses, restaurants to high-end residential. They will discuss methods for achieving truly effective architectural, interior and lighting design in hospitality properties.

No Strangers in Our Living Space - the Spanish Design Forum

With the support of the Extenda Business Development Office in Shanghai, several of the most prestigious architects in Spain, including Cruz y Ortiz arquitectos, bau (m) lab s.l.p. and LAR Responsible Architecture Lab, have been invited make speeches in Shanghai to share their successful experience of performing outstanding architectural and interior design work over the past decade in Spain. This will be a realistic reference to design practices in China against a background of rapid economic growth.

Green Building Revolution - the Ecobuild China Forum

The Ecobuild China Forum will strive to deliver practical and applied information on key issues facing those involved with sustainable construction and green improvements through BIM (Building Information Modeling). The program will include the sessions on retrofit existing buildings, BIM adoption, BRE innovations technology of sustainable building, large commercial buildings, and high-rise buildings incorporating keynote presentations, panel discussions and Q&A.

Hotel Plus the Mockup Hotel Room Show

To provide an ideal gateway to China's burgeoning hotel engineering market, the third edition of Hotel Plus - the Mockup Hotel Room Show will be launched in Hall W3 at Shanghai New International Expo Center. It is co-organised by the China Tourist Hotels Association and supported by Jinling Hotels & Resorts Corporation, BTG-Jianguo Hotels & Resort Group, the New Century Hotels & Resort Group, and the Intercontinental Hotels Group. The total exhibition area of Hotel Plus 2014 will be over 1000 sqm including five demonstration suites in hotel guest rooms on-site. Cutting-edge decorative art, green materials and new concept designs were used to showcase the standards for star-rated hotel guest rooms, the future hotel engineering standards, as well as to guide future understanding and the practice of interior design alongside hotel engineering standards. All of these not only stimulated development trends, but also provided interior design reference points and overall engineering solutions for star-rated hotels.
