Structural Group Founder and CEO Wins ACI's 2014 Jean-Claude Roumain Innovation in Concrete Award

Structural Group today announced that Peter Emmons, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Structural Group, Inc., is the winner of ACI Foundation's 2014 Jean-Claude Roumain Innovation in Concrete Award.

This award was established in 2010 by ACI's Strategic Development Council (SDC). The award will be presented on October 26, 2014, in connection with ACI's Fall Convention in Washington, DC.

The Strategic Development Council's citation on the award is "For your far-sighted and continuing leadership in the concrete repair industry, and your outstanding dedication to facilitating implementation of new research and development initiatives in the field, advancing the science and standards in concrete repair."

Over the years Emmons has been recognized by American Concrete Institute (ACI) with numerous awards. In 1996 Emmons was awarded the ACI Wason Medal for Most Meritorious Paper. In 2000 Emmons received ACI's Arthur R. Anderson Award for contributions to the development and dissemination of knowledge regarding the repair, rehabilitation, and maintenance of concrete. In the same year, Emmons was the co-recipient of the ACI Construction Practice Award. In 2009 Emmons was recognized with ACI's Roger H. Corbetta Concrete Constructor Award.

Emmons is the author of the book, Concrete Repair and Maintenance Illustrated, first published in 1993. He has also since 1996 been an annual lecturer at World of Concrete on concrete materials and repair methods. He holds multiple patents related to repair of concrete structures.
