JP Spano Building Places Order for Eco Red Shield Protected Lumber

Eco Building Products, Inc., announced today that JP Spano Building Corporation has ordered their first Eco Red Shield Protected Lumber "whole-house" package for a new home to be built in the Hamptons, located on Eastern Long Island, New York.

This recent order originating from a new ECOB customer provides demonstrable proof of a growing Industry movement towards defensive building practices spearheaded by Eco Building Products.

Steve Conboy, President & CEO of Eco Building Products, Inc. passionately stated that "Eco set out a long time ago, before the CalGreen Code was implemented, to defend homeowners from builders that use framing lumber presenting obvious signs of moisture related problems. As the Industry's 'Lone Ranger' of raising the bar on how we build wood-framed buildings, we are confident that recent Building Code modifications will impose more stringent regulations and code enforcement on builders utilizing green or dry lumber in excess of 19% moisture content. This Code change supports the fact that wet lumber can be a problem when installed in wood-framed buildings. In California, we need this code because builders think that because we are live in a dry climate, this issue is not as important; whereas in the Northeastern U.S., all framing lumber is wet year round. These conditions are the very reason for Eco's lumber protection and efforts in the region, thus prompting our quest to find professionals like Joe Spano that are of like mind that there exists a need to defend lumber and homeowners from moisture related problems. Joe takes into account both the environment and his customers when evaluating which products will be used and how he is going to build the high-quality, defensive homes he is known for."

Joe Spano, President of JP Spano Building Corporation commented that "As a builder of high-end fine homes, I have made the decision to support Eco's effort in establishing a higher standard for wood-framed buildings, by protecting the bones of all of our new homes. This decision is certain to provide peace of mind for my clients and additional defense for their homes against mold, rot, termites and fire. I'm excited to be working with Steve Conboy as we build my first home this week utilizing Eco's Advanced Framing Lumber."
