EnerQuality Honors The Minto Group for Commitment to Greener Buildings

The Minto Group was once again honoured for energy efficiency and sustainability at the 2014 EnerQuality Awards Gala yesterday evening. This marks nearly 40 years of sustained industry recognition for Minto's better, greener building.

With recent harsh temperatures stressing the importance of living in well built, energy efficient homes, Minto is proud to be recognized for its commitment to building high performing homes, winning a total of 3 awards, including ENERGY STAR® for New Homes Builder of the Year (large volume), Best Green Marketing Campaign, and Ontario Green Builder of the Year - for the third time.

"In this, the year that Minto proudly celebrates 60 years of home building, it's truly an honour to once again be recognised by EnerQuality for our leadership in energy efficiency and sustainability." said Alison Minato, Vice President Sustainability, The Minto Group. "We take great pride in crafting our award winning communities to meet advanced green building standards."

Founded in 1998, EnerQuality's mission is to transform Ontario's housing into the most energy efficient and sustainable in the world through voluntary programs. For almost 40 years, Minto has been at the forefront of meeting and exceeding these standards within all developments.

The Minto Group was the first major developer in Canada to support green building initiatives and has enjoyed a long history of receiving Ontario green building accolades, winning the Ontario Home Builders' Association GREEN Builder of the Year award in 2008, 2010 and 2011 as well as being named the Ontario Home Builder of the Year by the OHBA in 2012 and 2014.

Minto is committed to third-party verification on all its new developments with over 3000 homes in Canada and the United States ENERGY STAR® certified to date. The Minto environmental policy guides all company developments to deliver higher performing homes including new properties such as Queen's Landing and Potter's Key.
