The Environmental Protection Agency along with the Bureau of Land Management has awarded Morrison-Knudsen a $570 million contract for remedial site clean up at several locations in Wyoming. Project sites include several abandoned coal mines in the Powder River Basin region of the state.
In addition to the mine clean up the Company will perform environmental clean up and restoration at several oil and gas fields in the Fortification Creek, Gun Barrel and Iron Horse areas of Wyoming. Work includes reclaiming all the sites and putting them back to their natural state, removing all toxic substances from the ground, monitoring water quality and upgrading all roads to State and Federal standards. Included in the scope of work is the construction of three new bridges.

"As a great deal of our work is in the mining and oil industries we pride ourselves in putting the area back to as close to undisturbed as humanly possible and restoring it for future generations."
