Better, Safer And Cheaper Construction Through Good Design

A new report has been published by The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) on using design to improve construction safety.

The illustrated examples show how designers can achieve better, safer and cheaper construction. Case studies include:

  • pre-installed windows and glazing within precast concrete cladding panels
  • pre-cast concrete guide-wall moulds
  • pre-cast concrete beams
  • structural steel columns and pre-drilled web holes
  • gutter and handrail supports
  • unitised curtain walling
  • built up and composite roofs.
