Glo Brite Eco Exit Sign Helps Architects to Develop Greener Buildings

Jessup Manufacturing Company has introduced a new Glo Brite® Eco Exit™ PM100 sign that is approved for outdoor and wet applications, as well as being suitable for floor proximity installation.

Glo Brite Eco Exit Sign

Developed by North America's leading manufacturer of photoluminescent safety products, Jessup's new Eco Exit™ PM100 sign provides architects, contractors and building owners a new zero energy, zero maintenance solution for outdoor spaces or wet conditions, such as outdoor corridors or packing plants.  The sign is visible for 100 feet, making it ideal for warehouses, manufacturing plants and big box retailers.

The signs use the latest photoluminescent technology to absorb and store ambient light.  During an emergency blackout or smoky conditions, the stored energy lights the sign, reducing the risk of panic or injury during an emergency evacuation.

"This is another example of how Jessup's continued research and development efforts result in new solutions that improve safety, provide better choices for users and contribute to the environment," said Alan M. Carlson, vice president marketing support and business development for Jessup.  "Like all of our Glo Brite® Eco Exit™ solutions, the PM100 signs save money at every step of the purchase, installation and operation process."

Among the advantages for architects are choices for single- or double-sided signs with multiple mounting options.  The Glo Brite® Eco Exit™ PM100 signs are LEED points qualified, and reduce cooling and emergency generator loads.

Installation costs for contactors are reduced because no electrical wiring or battery backup is needed, and there are standard bracket options for easy mounting.

The signs do not use any electrical energy or require bulb or battery replacement, reducing ongoing operating costs for building owners.  Plus, the signs are movable if egress paths change, and they are non-toxic, so there are no disposal issues common with tritium signs that utilize radioactive materials.

The Glo Brite® Eco Exit™ PM100 signs also help architects and building owners reduce the carbon footprint to create greener buildings.  A building with 100 photoluminescent signs will save more than $3,500 a year in energy costs and reduce air pollution by almost a half a million pounds of CO2 compared with incandescent signs over the life of the product.

Jessup's Glo Brite® Eco Exit™ PM100 signs are UL 924 Listed.  The signs have a life expectancy of more than 25 years.
