MBMI Metal Buildings Introduces Above Ground Tornado Safe-Rooms
MBMI Metal Buildings, a provider of pre-engineered metal buildings and other supplements, has declared the launch of a new type of safety building known as above ground tornado safe-rooms.
MBMI Steel Buildings
The safe-rooms have been designed by the company’s engineers and can withstand wind speeds of up to 200 mph.
The frames utilized in the construction of safe-room are produced using 24-gauge steel and toughened with portal frames for extra support. The buildings use pre-welded connector clips and 4”x3” sized base angles to improve the strength of the joints between the framing and concrete foundation and between the framing components. The safe-rooms can be tailor-made to meet the capacity requirements of individual clients. The panels can be customized with a range of 20 paint colors.
The above ground tornado safe-rooms can also act as hurricane safe-rooms and can be developed as an attachment to a present building or as stand-alone structures.
