The company leads the lightweight gypsum panel markets with a range of products. The company introduced its ½-in. SHEETROCK Brand UltraLight gypsum panels in July 2010 and went on to introduce SHEETROCK Brand UltraLight Panels FIRECODE 30 in June 2011. It is a 5/8-in. 30 minute fire-rated partition board. Both the boards weigh at least 30% lesser than other panels available in the market.

The newly introduced lightweight gypsum panel boards conform to the requirements of ASTM C1396 specified for gypsum board, type X. This light weight panel happens to be the first ever panel to get listed in over 130 UL fire rated fabrications. The product is manufactured to utilize in those areas that need type X gypsum board or a fire-rated assembly.

The board comes handy for installers and contractors due to their easier and less fatiguing installation to improve its productivity. The dealers finds it convenient to deal with light weight panels that enable them to send more panels by shipment, thus saving on number of trips and fuel costs and achieve improvement in their operational efficiencies.
