Austral to Become Largest Floor Tile Producer in Australia

With the purchase of Eureka Tiles, Austral Brick are set to take over the mantle of Australia’s largest floor tile manufacturer. The purchase was made in May 2002 and cost Brickworks, (who own Austral) AUD$12.75 million.

Eureka Tiles, established in 1913, has two plants in Ballarat, Victoria, Australia, and will continue to trade as Eureka Tiles.

The acquisition adds to Austral’s existing floor tile business, The Austral Tile Company, an ultra modern Sydney (Australia) based company. The Austral Tile Company will become known as Eureka Tiles.

The purchase expands the range of products offered by Austral. It also adds to their product range glazed ceramic bathroom fittings for domestic and prestige commercial applications.
